About the role:
This Staff Engineer is a senior professional in the Developer Experience team, dedicated to making engineers happy and highly productive. The ideal candidate has technical expertise in language toolchains (Scala, Rust, Python) and build systems (especially Bazel).
Key responsibilities:
• Build world-class developer infrastructure that boosts productivity.
• Dramatically improve the reliability, speed and efficiency of the largest builds.
• Create seamless, out-of-the-box development environments and IDE integrations for all major languages (Scala, Rust, Go, Python, etc.).
• Lead important cross-functional projects and influence major architectural decisions.
• Conduct in-depth evaluations of external vendors, startups and internal teams.
Requirements:
• Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and challenges of large-scale operations.
• Ability to think long-term strategically while delivering incremental, measurable impact.
